I'm No Longer Left Handed

I spent from September to November 2011 going from one doctor to the next, trying to determine why I wasn't able to hold my wrist up & have more function in my fingures.

1st doctor: He issued the nerve test which determined a nerve issue between the shoulder & elbow. Since he only deals from the hand to the elbow, He just wanted to put an internal brace in my wrist along with nerve & tendon transfers to get more hand function.... I did not understand why we were Compromising vs trying to find the reason. Thus started my journey going from one doctor to another. The 2nd doctor only dealt with shoulder issues and felt I should consult with a neurologist. The neurologist ordered a MRI on my neck & shoulder which confirmed the nerve issues were between the shoulder & elbow.

So now back to the 1st doctor who now was willing to go in and see if perhaps the bone regrowth in my upper arm had perhaps encased the radial nerve & maybe just needed chipped out. No Luck. There is a flat spot on the nerve just above the elbow which means damaged.

Now more surgery needed to put in the wrist brace & preform some tendom/nerve transfer to get some kind of function.

  1. Finally having surgery for the wrist brace & tendon transfer. I have concerns on how things will work, but any improvement will be great. My good friend Gia is helping to organize a car & motorcycle wash to raise some funds to help cover my yearly deductable & co-pay. It's a heafty amount of money, but at least I have insurance. So many thoughts about utilizing this experience for the betterment of others. I will keep everyone posted on how the surgery went.
